Program description

Lewis and Clark encountered millions of bison on their trek up the Missouri River. The bison were critical for the survival and well being of the many tribes of Great Plains Native Americans. Learn how the Native Americans made shovels, thread, glue and much more from the different parts of the bison. This course is in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation. A historian from the Missouri Department of Conservation will present a power point and many artifacts or simulated artifacts on the many uses of the bison by the Great Plains Native Americans. - Taken from the CILC website

In order to involve as many schools as possible, if your school has participated in another conference scheduled by Lori (excluding Monster Exchange), please wait until October 28 to register. Each school may sign up for only ONE time slot. Also, in order to preserve the interactiveness of the program, only one classroom per school (maximum 30 students).
